Principal's Message

  • I am proud to be the Principal of Cudgee Primary School.  As a staff we are committed to providing stimulating teaching and learning opportunities to every child. Our goal is to provide our students the skills and tools to thrive in an ongoing changing world.

We value the differences of all students and provide high quality programs delivered by specialist teachers. We are surrounded by a caring community and I often reflect on the African proverb‘that it takes a village to raise a child’ We have developed a feeling of community and trust that we all care about every child as if they were our own.

We believe in practicing what we teach. Fitness, outdoor education, healthy eating, sustainability and understanding of indigenous and Asian cultures are all modelled as well as taught. Children learn inside the classrooms out in the beautiful grounds, and through partnerships with Demo Dairy and Deakin University.  Students are actively engaged in organising community events such as the annual Fun Run, School Concert.

Recently our school turned 150 years old and we were lucky enough to celebrate the special place the school holds with many past, student, families, staff and community members.  And we made a promise to keep Cudgee a great school for all past, present and future community members.

The following quotes from Nelson Mandela help me to express the passion I have for teaching and learning.

“A good head and good heart are always a formidable combination. But when you add to that a literate tongue or pen, then you have something very special.”

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Please contact the school if you would like further information
